LABOR DAY WEEKEND DUI TASKFORCE
The Kingman Police Department will be conducting joint operations with other area law enforcement agencies as part of the Western Arizona DUI Taskforce this Labor Day Holiday Weekend. Officers and deputies will be seeking to apprehend those who choose to drive while impaired. The Western Arizona DUI Taskforce will include agencies from Mohave, La Paz, and Yuma Counties which are committed to the safe passage of motorists traveling this busy holiday weekend.
Our DUI enforcement is made possible by funding provided through the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and NHSTA, the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration. Every year scores of preventable injuries and deaths take place on our roads and highways as a result of poor choices made by those to choose to drive after consuming alcohol as part of the holiday celebrations.
If you observe a suspected impaired driver immediately call your local law enforcement agency, provide a good description, direction of travel, if possible a license plate and description of the driver to assist us in removing the subject from the road. Don’t confront the individual, simply be a good witness and keep a safe distance. We all have to work together to prevent such tragedies from being repeated.
FEES AT CERBAT CLIFFS GOLF COURSE TO INCREASE SEPTEMBER 1ST
On July 1st the Kingman City Council approved a rate hike in the fees charged at the Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course. There are several reasons to round-up and increase fees, to include tax, at the golf course. The first is to minimize the time our customer’s spend in the line at the Pro Shop waiting while staff has to make change for each transaction and count it back. The second and very important reason is to show Council and the citizens of the City of Kingman that we are continuing our efforts to make the golf course a self-supporting operation. This will increase annual revenue by $45,000 to $50,000. Another very important reason is that many of our customers have suggested that we do this.
