ARREST MADE IN RECENT RASH OF GRAFFITI

An arrest has been made in a recent rash of graffiti occurring in the north Kingman area. A KPD detective assigned to the AZ State Gang Task Force (GIITEM) was assigned the investigation into numerous incidents of graffiti occurring between September and October. The investigation resulted in a search warrant being served at the suspect’s home in the 3200 block of Lomalai St. on October 25th, where numerous items connected to the graffiti were located. The suspect, a 19-year-old Kingman man, whose identity is not released pending grand jury indictment, admitted involvement in the offenses.
FUGITIVE WANTED OUT OF NEBRASKA AND NORTH DAKOTA CAPTURED

On Monday, November 13th, at 9:50 am, Kingman Police arrested Matthew Allen Braun, 29 of North Dakota, and Jacqueline Ann Bennett, 31 of Minnesota, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana. Officers contacted Braun and Bennett at a motel in the 3200 block of E. Andy Devine Ave. regarding Braun having felony warrants out of Nebraska for Burglary and Theft, in addition to warrants out of North Dakota for Probation Violation on original charges of Burglary. Both were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and the associated drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on the local charges and Braun additionally held on fugitive from justice holds while awaiting extradition. KPD investigators are working with Nebraska authorities on searching a vehicle Braun and Bennet had parked at the motel.
BURGLARY AND DRUG OFFENSE

On Sunday, November 5th, at about 3:40 pm, Kingman Police arrested Brad Allen Morphew, 36 of Kingman, on felony charges of Residential Burglary, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x2. Morphew was observed taking a bicycle out of the open garage of a residence in the 600 block of Country Club Dr. Morphew was confronted by a witness, at which time he denied stealing the bike and drove away, with the bike in his car. Several minutes later officers contacted Morphew several blocks away. Morphew, who no longer possessed the bicycle, denied involvement and denied being in the area, even after a witnessed had photographed Morphew and vehicle. Morphew, who was found to also be in possession of marijuana and the assorted drug paraphernalia, was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The stolen bicycle, that is still missing, is a black and orange colored Mongoose BMX style. Investigators believe that Morphew abandoned or tossed the bile after being confronted and photographed by the witness.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND DRUG OFFENSE

On Wednesday, November 1st, at 8:55 am, Kingman Police arrested Chavis F. Salesulu, 29 of Kingman, on felony Domestic Violence charges of Aggravated Assault by Choking, Aggravated Assault on under 15y, Aggravated Assault Imprisonment, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and other assorted misdemeanor criminal domestic violence offense. Officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment in the 3100 block of Harrison St. were it was reported that Salesulu was involved in an argument and physical altercation with his 28-year-old girlfriend. The investigation determined that during the disturbance Salesulu had forced the victim into a bedroom and held her down; he forcibly took a cell phone from the victims 8-year-old daughter, preventing her from calling the police; he physically grabbed and pulled the 8-year-old back into the apartment by her hair, preventing her from leaving and seeking help; and he choked the 28-year-old after she had locked herself in a bathroom; and he ran from the apartment on foot. Officers located Salesulu several blocks away, where he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and the associated drug paraphernalia. Salesulu, who admitted involvement in the offenses, was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
DISCHARGE OF FIREARM IN BATHROOM LEADS TO ARREST FOR DRUGS AND WEAPONS OFFENSE

On Wednesday, November 1st, at 11:50 pm, Kingman Police arrested Roger C. Kroll, 51 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Weapons Misconduct and a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Damage. Kroll was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred on October 30th, wherein a male subject “accidentally” discharged a firearm in the bathroom of a convenience store in the 3400 block of E. Andy Devine Ave., destroying the toilet. A store employee contacted the man, who provided a name and other information, saying that he accidentally dropped his gun and it discharged. The police were not called as arrangements were made between the man and the store. It was later determined that the man had provided a false name and other information, at which time police were called. On Wednesday store employees observed the suspect pumping gas and contacted police. Police arrived and contact Kroll who initially denied providing false information, but later admitted to his involvement in the offense and stated he was intoxicated at the time. Officers located a firearm in Kroll’s vehicle along with methamphetamine and the associated drug paraphernalia. It was determined that Kroll was unable to lawfully possess a firearm. Kroll was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on his charges.
ARREST FOR DRUG OFFENSE

On Tuesday, October 31st, at 3:00 am, Kingman Police arrested Corrine Nicole Ficarella, 18 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Harley James Alcott Vandeman, 18 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a misdemeanor warrant out of Kingman Municipal Court for Failure to Pay Fine. Officers contacted Ficarella and Vandeman while they were sitting in a parked car, after hours, at a park in the 1500 block of White Cliffs Rd. Officers noticed the smell and smoke of burnt marijuana. Vandeman, who attempted to provide a false name, and Ficarella were taken into custody. Ficarella was found to be in possession of marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and MDMA (the active ingredient in the party drug Ecstasy), while Vandeman was found to be in possession of marijuana and the associated drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
ARREST MADE IN HOME INVASION

On October 17th, Kingman Police Detectives arrested Corey Paul Thomas, 24 of Kingman, on felony charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Robbery, Theft of Credit Card and Theft over $1,000.00. Detectives identified Thomas as one of the suspects in the October 2nd, home invasion/armed robbery at a residence on the 2300 block of Comanche Dr. He was located and arrested in the 3900 block of Stockton Hill Rd. Thomas admitted his involvement in the offense and was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The investigation is ongoing as additional suspects are being sought.
FELONY SHOPLIFTING ARREST

On Monday, October 9th, at about 6:15 pm, Kingman Police arrested Dustin J. Harwood, 36 of Kingman, on felony charges of Shoplifting, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Harwood was arrested at a residence in the 2100 block of Roy Rogers Way as a result of a shoplifting investigation that was begun on October 4th, at the Walmart store. Harwood was identified as a suspect and had previous arrests and convictions for shoplifting, which made this incident a felony. Harwood, who was found to be in possession of marijuana and the associated drug paraphernalia, was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
DANGEROUS DRUGS FOR SALE AND WEAPONS OFFENSE

On Saturday, October 7th, at about 6:15 pm, Kingman Police arrested Hunter A. McGuire, 21 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Prohibited Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Drug Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a felony warrant for 2 counts of Probation Violation; and Aubrey J. Davis, 42 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Possession of Marijuana for Sale and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were contacted in a vehicle in the 800 block of Crestwood Dr. on an unrelated incident when McGuire was found to have a felony warrant for 2 counts of probation violation for his arrest. During this time officers located a firearm, methamphetamine, marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia that indicated both were actively involved in the sale of illicit drugs. Both were arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.

On Tuesday, October 3rd, at 3:45 pm, Kingman Police arrested Adam Wade Bryant, 27 of Kingman, on felony charges of Aggravated Assault (3 counts), Disorderly Conduct (3 counts) and misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. The arrest is the result of an incident at the Walmart store in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Rd. where Bryant is alleged to have stabbed and threatened to stab several people during a disturbance at the store. KPD received 911 reports that a male subject was causing a disturbance at the store and actively stabbing people. Officers arrived and found several people attempting to restrain Bryant. Bryant was detained after a brief scuffle with an officer. The investigation determined that Bryant had become verbally abusive and belligerent with customers. When confronted by a female store employee and asked to leave the store, Bryant reportedly became verbally aggressive with the employee, spitting on her and threatening to stab her, while brandishing a knife. Two customers stepped in to protect the female employee, at which time Bryant attacked them, slashing one of the customers in the face, causing a small laceration. Ultimately several customers assisted in restraining and detaining Bryant until officers arrived. No one received serious injuries. The employee (victim) was a 32 year old female. The customers (victims) who assisted where a 44 year old male and a 55 year old male. The 44 year old victim was from Las Vegas and was treated and released for the minor laceration. Bryant continued to be verbally combative and belligerent with officers. It is unknown is alcohol or drugs are involved. Bryant was subsequently booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
