The City of Kingman Sanitation Department provides sanitation service twice a week to all city residents. If you are experiencing problems with your sanitation service, or need to have your container fixed, please call the Sanitation Department at (928) 692-3102.

SIDE WALK ACCESSIBILITY

The City of Kingman would like to take this opportunity to remind city residents that city sidewalks should be kept free and clear from any items that could create any pedestrians or wheel chairs from using the sidewalk without any interference.

SANITATION:

City residents who have sanitation service that is being picked up at the curbside, should locate their container at the curb just off the side walk at the edge of the road. This allows pedestrians and wheel chairs to access the sidewalk without any interferences. We would also like to remind the residents that containers should be placed out at the edge of the road by 6 A.M.. They can place their containers out the night before but not before 6 P.M.. and they should remove it from the street the day of collection and be placed on the occupant’s property.

PUBLIC PARKING:

City residents are also reminded that vehicles parked on city sidewalks is against the law. The City of Kingman Police Department will be enforcing the problem of vehicles that are parked on city sidewalks.

There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Monday, January 20th.

There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Tuesday, November 11th.  Tuesday customers should put their cans out one day late.

THANKSGIVING-THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27th  
There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Thursday, November 27th. Thursday customers should put their cans out one day early. Full trash service will resume on Friday, November 28th.

CHRISTMAS- THURSDAY, DECEMBER 25th
There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Thursday, December 25th. Thursday customers should put their cans out one day early. Full trash service will resume on Friday, December 26th.

NEW YEARS DAY- THURSDAY, JANUARY 1st, 2015
There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Thursday January 1st.  Thursday customers should put their cans out one day early. Full trash service will resume on Friday, January 2nd.

The monthly sanitation rate for a 90 gallon container, or a shared 300 gallon container, is $19.78. If you believe that you generate more trash than your container can handle, the City will provide you with a second 90 gallon container for an additional $19.78 a month.

Customers are responsible for keeping their containers washed and cleaned. All trash should be bagged and tied before it is placed in the container. Container lids should be kept closed to prevent trash from blowing out onto the street. It is the customer's responsibility to have their container out at the curbside at 6:00 a.m. on the day of their pick up. "Curbside" means at the edge of the street, not on the sidewalk.. Containers should be placed with the arrows facing the street. Customers can roll their containers out after 5:00 p.m. the night before their scheduled pick up. It is the customer's responsibility to move the emptied container back onto their property the same day of their scheduled pickup. It is also the customer's responsibility to place the container in such a way that the truck can pick it up without any interferences, (i.e., away from automobiles, power poles, mailboxes, etc.)

The City Kingman will not pick up the items described below and they should not be placed into your container.

  • Hot ashes or any items that could cause combustion to sanitation containers and/or equipment
  • Construction waste
  • Rock, dirt, or concrete
  • Large dead animals
  • Tires
  • Hazardous material substances that are toxic and could cause illness to the public or people operating and/or repairing sanitation equipment.
  • Any gasoline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable or explosive liquid,
    solid or gas

The City of Kingman offers a program called "extra trash." The Sanitation Department will come to your residence and pick up items that will not fit in your container, (i.e., tree limbs, furniture, yard waste, and some construction materials). The fee for this service is $15.00 for up to five cubic yards. These items can be placed out at the edge of your street or in your alley. Extra trash requests can be placed by calling the City Complex Customer Service Office (928) 692-3102. The same restrictions that apply to regular trash also apply to extra trash. In addition, the City will not pick up refrigerators or air conditioning units if the compressors are still intact. (Some appliance centers will remove Freon and compressors or accept whole units for a minimal charge.)
