Vice-Mayor Mark Wimpee

Mark Wimpee was born in Ventura California. He has been a resident of Kingman AZ since 1976, graduating from Kingman High School in 1978.

In 1980 Mark enlisted and served 5 years in the US Navy. Attending Satellite Communications, Teletype school, and two years of college during his Naval career. Mark served most of his time on the USS William H. Stanley, a guided missile cruiser. He served in Guam, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Russia. Mark served on the Admirals staff in San Diego California and advance to the level of E-5.

Mark has been in management most of his adult life, He worked at Northwest Arizona Distributors for 14 years as operations manager, where he supervised and managed personnel. He was also a construction manager for 7 years where he scheduled and coordinated 10-12 subcontractors of new construction from start to finish. This led way for Mark to obtain his own contractor’s license. He currently owns and operates his own contracting business in Kingman, First Generation Builders LLC. He is a residential and commercial contractor.

Mark has a strong commitment to community and encourages others to get involved. Some of you may know him by his community involvement. He is or has served in the following volunteer organizations: Rotary of Route 66, Northwest Arizona Contractors Association, Kiwanis of Kingman, Mohave County Search and Rescue Jeep unit, Board of Directors of the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Kingman Municipal Utilities Commission. He is a member of the Elks Lodge and The Eagles lodge. Served as Secretary, Vice President and President of Kingsmen of route 66 and is a Life member. He was the founding member and president of the Silent Witness Program of Kingman and Bullhead City.

Mark was elected to the Kingman City Council in 2012. He currently serves as the liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
