Wastewater Pre-Treatment Program
With the expansion of the
Hilltop Wastewater Treatment Plant, the City of Kingman is required to implement
a Wastewater Pre-Treatment Program within (6) months of new plant operation.
This program will require an amendment to the Utility Regulations that will set
local limits for certain constituents that occur in wastewater. If a sewer user
discharges at levels above these limits, they may be required to provide
additional treatment on-site, prior to discharge into our system.
A letter and survey will be sent
to industrial/commercial businesses notifying them of the pre-treatment program.
They will be asked to fill out and return a short survey. We will continue our
public outreach and education efforts with these users through the drafting of
the pre-treatment ordinance. The draft ordinance will be presented to the
Municipal Utilities Commission and Council for review, comment, and adoption.
The
letter and
survey are
available for download. Please contact the City of Kingman Wastewater Division
if you have any questions or need additional information.
