There are many activities for
everyone to enjoy:
COMPUTER CLASSES
Beginning computer classes are available on the following days.
Wednesday: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Classes are available to students for a $4 charge per class. Classes are once a week for 2 hours and organized into 6 week sessions. Class
times are subject to the availability of students. Intermediate computer classes are available on the following days.
Friday: 9:00- 11:00 a. m.
If you need help with a specific computer program, there will be a variety of specialty classes which may work for you. Student fees will
remain at $4 per class. Class times remain once a week for 2 hours, but class session dates will vary depending on topic and instructor availability. For more information on start date and time, please contact Debera at the Adult Center at 757-2778.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Adult Center Jam session provides old time country music for all to enjoy on Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. Have fun by playing your favorite instrument,
singing or just enjoy listening to the great country music. Ladies Tea – The adult center offers “Ladies Tea Parties” on a regular basis throughout the year. Most often this event is scheduled around a specific
holiday or theme. Refreshments such as hot or cold tea, coffee, cookies and other refreshments are served. Periodically other forms of entertainment may be included to follow the theme of our event. Each “Tea Party” is held on a Friday Afternoon beginning at
1:00 p.m. If you would like more information, please call the center at 757-2778. Karaoke Night
– is held on specified Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Come show off your musical talents or enjoy listening to
others who perform. Please call Debera for scheduled dates. Monthly Dinners – The second Thursday of each month, volunteers and staff present a wonderful “down home” style meal cooked to perfection. This program
acts like a monthly fundraiser, helping to promote and sustain on going activities. Cost for each meal is a suggested donation of $4.00. Stop on by, enjoy a great meal, free yourself from cooking and dishes, and help support senior programs in OUR
community.

Belly Dance – Beginning Belly Dance classes are offered each Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. with instructor Nola Long-Maehren. Learn the basic
moves, enjoy some stress free exercise, and meet new friends all in an hour. Ladies of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to attend this fun, low key class.

* Beginning Sewing Class members work together and support each other. There are also two ambitious teachers who are eager to help. Learn basic sewing
techniques as well as how to understand, operate, and properly care for your machine. If you do not have a sewing machine, there is always an extra at our table. Each week features a new project or continued work and help on last weeks challenge.
*Witches of the Round Table is a fun loving group that enjoys lively conversation while working on their own crafting creations. Come visit the bubbling
caldron! **Mixed Media class members work together on individual and group projects and try to inspire each others creativity. The group combines traditional crafting with a variety
of new and exciting techniques. The group is always looking for new members, so join in, you’ll love it, we guarantee.
GAMES
Pinochle – Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. & Friday at 10:30 a.m.
Hand & Foot Canasta – Wednesdays at 12:00 p. m.
Party Bridge – Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
Duplicate Bridge – Friday at 12:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining one or more of the card games, please call Debera at 757-2778. We are in the process of expanding the number of tables to
players. Some groups do require you to have a partner.
EXERCISE CLASSES
Low Impact Exercise
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
At 8:30 a.m.
The low impact exercise class uses a more traditional form of stretching, and range of motion movements. Exercises can be done seated or standing. A floor
routine is available for those who are able. Participants are encouraged to train at their own pace. Tai Chi/Meditation
Monday, Wednesday & Friday
At 10:00 a.m.
Tai Chi is an oriental form of connecting mind and body. Movements are slow and precise. Participants find this form of exercise extremely relaxing. A 15 minute
meditation is a new addition to accent the Tai Chi program at the conclusion of exercise each day. The meditation process will help you deal with day to day stress and promote health & well being.
Senior Physical Fitness Program
The center is developing a variety of noncompetitive sports oriented programs that encourage older adults to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Different
programs will be offered throughout the year as well as a walking program that offer monthly incentives for each participant; Currently Featuring Horseshoes and Table Tennis. For more information, program dates and times, please call the center at 757-2778.
RESOURCES AND REFERRAL SERVICES AVAILABLE
The Adult center strives to interact and network with area providers of adult and senior services. A list of the most frequently contacted is listed below.
Some of these providers utilize the center to see clients, and with others we only have referral information that may assist you. A more complete list and other information is available within the centers brochure.
KRMC – The hospital in collaboration with the Adult Center provides a bi-monthly seminar called Senior Health Focus. These seminars feature area doctors
speaking about issues relevant to the adult and senior population. Social Security – Nearest office in Needle, CA or Prescott, AZ. A flyer with several contact numbers and the Social Security web site is available at
our center. SHIP – Medicare Questions and Insurance Counseling - A Program Specialist from the Area Agency on Aging is available on the 1-3 Monday from 9:00 a.m. –
12:00 p.m. Referrals – Referral information is available for several government based programs, and community services through a new “Aging and Disabilities Help
Line”. This line connects you to the WACOG, area agency on aging. Please call 1-800-782-1886 for assistance.
Assistance for Caregivers –
The center hosts a “Caregivers Resource Zone”. There is a variety
of written brochures that you may take home which provide helpful information. AARP Tax Assistance Program – Tax assistance designed to help the elderly and low income
adults. Appointments are available seasonally by calling the Adult Center at 757-2778. Not available in 2012. Please check with the center next February for current tax year information.
Center Volunteers – Are available to assist with state tax credits.
AARP Defensive Driving – A contact number is available at the center.
RSVP/ Senior Companion – These programs encourage seniors to become active and assist others
within their community. RSVP volunteers assist in many activities at the center and we have a contact number for Senior Companions. Also available is the Foster Grandparent program.
Hospice – New Hope Hospice provides their clients and other community members in need with a
Bereavement support group each Thursday from 2-4 p.m.
FACILITY RENTAL OPPORTUNITIES
The center is available for private parties, meetings or seminars. A rental agreement must be completed along with 50% of required fee. A fee of $100 per room
and a $100 cleaning & damage deposit per room will be charged. There are many community organizations that use the center to hold their meetings. A few examples are the Girl Scouts, Gem Stoners, Art Alliance, Computer Users Club, HALT, Therapaws, Kingman
Cancer Care.

Volunteers are wanted to assist the center
staff by answering phones, greeting participants, and helping guest. If you
love spending time with others, this is the job for you!
