Trips and Excursion Policy
1. Reservations can be made at the Parks and Recreation Office with a minimum 25% deposit (rounded to nearest $5 dollars), paid at that time.
2. The remaining balance must be paid in one payment, no later than the balance due date indicated on the registration form. (Call Parks & Rec office for specific dates on individual trips.)
3. A. Refunds of 100% will be made upon any request received prior to the balance due date indicated on the registration form. (Dates will vary depending on excursion.)
    B. Requests made less than 10 working days before the excursion, will forfeit 50% (rounded to nearest dollar) of the total fee. If your spot can be resold, you will receive a 100% refund.
    C. Requests made less than 48hrs before excursion will forfeit 100%, unless reservation can be resold.
4. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to sign up for overnight excursions without an adult guardian on the excursion.

The Parks & Recreation department organizes several trips and tours each year. Below are the trips that are scheduled.

ATTENTION PARENTS:  Due to the length and nature of some two and three day excursions, please be advised that it may not be appropriate for some younger children. Be aware that constant supervision needs to be exercised in order to maintain the safety and enjoyment of all involved. Thank you for your cooperation.


California Deep Sea Fishing - TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Ready for a great weekend of deep sea fishing and one of the best weekends of the year? If so, then come aboard and be part of the story, and not tell stories about the “big one” that got away. Deep sea fishing off the coast of San Diego is a three day weekend where fishing and friendship are the main course. Anglers will depart Kingman on Friday at 8:30 am via “motorcoach” for a leisurely ride to San Diego followed by a good nights rest, and a great day of Fishing on Saturday. After Sunday morning breakfast, our excursion will return home. We will again be aboard the 85 foot Grande, a spacious charter boat with a large 30 seat galley, two heads, and 44 sleeping berths. This is a three quarter day trip which departs Point Loma at 6:00 a.m. and returns to dock around 6:00 p.m. Two night’s accommodations are at the Mission Valley Resort. Several great restaurants are within walking distance. No matter if you are experienced or a first time angler, the Coronado Islands fishing trip will be the perfect activity to wet your appetite. Lunch & dinner stops will be made going to and returning from San Diego as needed. Your weekend includes round trip motorcoach transportation, two night’s accommodations, charter boat, license, permits, pole and tackle. No food or beverages are to be brought aboard the vessel due to a galley on board. Food, tips and fish cleaning gratuities are extra and not included in the trip cost! A $75 deposit is needed to hold reservation until final payment due by the extended deadline of May 11.

Tuacahn Amphitheatre & Zion National Park
This will be a weekend of fun and entertainment for all who register in this Utah getaway. We will depart on Friday for a drive to St. George, UT where we will check into the Courtyard by Marriott for our two night stay. That evening we will take our first visit to the Tuacahn Amphitheatre for a performance of “Aladdin”. Tuacahn, as a center for the arts is a professional non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring creativity and greatness in the human spirit by providing world class family entertainment. Located in Ivins, UT, the center’s state of the art facility features a 2,000 seat outdoor amphitheatre, surrounded by the exquisite red sandstone cliffs this area is famous for. On Saturday, we will take a morning drive out to Zion National Park for sightseeing and tram travel. You will have the opportunity to hop on the shuttle and see some great sights. You will travel through the town of Springdale and see the Zion Canyon Visitor Center along with many other great sights. Lunch will be on your own while at the Park. Upon our return to the hotel, you may take a rest or enjoy the town on your own. Dinner will be provided at Chuck-A-Rama Buffet prior our departure to Tuacahn. Part two of our theater enjoyment will follow at Tuacahn as we get the chance of viewing the performance of “Hairspray”. On Sunday morning after we check out of the hotel, we will make our way toward Las Vegas for a lunch stop at Sam’s Town. After lunch we will head back home to Kingman. Fee includes round trip motor coach transportation, 2-nights hotel accommodations, 2-continental Breakfast, dinner on Saturday, admission to both theatre nights, admission into Zion National Park, and bus refreshments. Please register early with a minimum $70 deposit and balances must be paid in full by May 21.

Colorado River & Black Canyon Raft Tour
You will enjoy the great outdoors on this one! This is a unique day trip aboard a motor-assisted raft which allows the visitor to leisurely enjoy and share in the history, desert wildlife and beauty in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures will provide transportation from the Hacienda Hotel & Casino on Highway 93 just outside of historic Boulder City. You will then be transported on a tour bus to the launch area at the base of the Hoover Dam. This is an extremely rare view of the Hoover Dam that very few people have the opportunity to see. At this time, you will board their large comfortable rafts which have been carefully constructed with your safety in mind. They have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with all of the Coast Guard required and recommended safety equipment. During this 3˝ hour excursion, experienced and knowledgeable guides will share with you the history of this magnificent geological area. The high canyon walls will leave you breathless. Be prepared to see Desert Big Horn Sheep, Osprey, and Great Blue Heron in their natural setting. Bring your camera and plenty of film, because it is seldom you will have an opportunity such as this to view the wonders of nature. Our rafts will stop along the shore to give you a chance to swim or play in the cool clear waters below Hoover Dam. At this time you will have opportunity to enjoy the box lunch provided while watching and listening to the sights and sounds of this magnificent desert. Your trip will end on the Arizona side of the river at Willow Beach. Here you will have the chance to shop for distinctive remembrances of your trip before boarding our tour bus for the return trip to Kingman. Fee includes bus transportation, raft fees, sack lunch & bus refreshments. Please register with at least a $30 deposit to guarantee your spot.

The Lost City and Valley of Fire
Experience a Nevada like you have never imagined, away from the glitz and glitter of Las Vegas and the world famous “Strip”. Millions of years have been working for you to form extraordinary red sandstone formations, from which the valley derives its name. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year old Indian petroglyphs. A well maintained and lovely visitor center also awaits the visitor. Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park. After leaving this natural wonderland your journey will take you into Overton for lunch (on your own) and on to the Lost City Museum. The museum created in 1935 has three separate wings with exhibits and artifacts of the Anasazi, early man, Paiute, geological exhibits and the Fay Perkins Wing which displays an actual Pueblo that was excavated in 1935. Departing Overton and the museum the day’s journey will take the North Shore Drive along Lake Mead to the Hacienda Hotel for Dinner before returning to Kingman. Trip includes round trip transportation, park entrance fees, and water.

The Peaks and Canyons Natural Adventure
(Arizona Snowbowl Ride and Walnut Canyon)
Experience the heights and depths of Arizona terrain as our Saturday excursion will begin with an exhilarating half hour ride to the top of the Snowbowl, a little exploring and picture taking, and then your descent followed by lunch at the lodge. After lunch it’s on to Walnut Canyon for an afternoon hike. While at Walnut Canyon visitors can view the canyon from the National Park Visitors Center, take a short hike on the Rim Trail or go all out and take the Island Trail that passes by numerous cliff dwellings and petroglyphs. The Island trail does however involve numerous steps and steep grades over its one mile loop. On the return trip to Kingman a brief stop in Williams will be made. This excursion is a slice out of “real” Arizona and gives its participants panoramic views of world class scenery and history of Arizona’s native past. (Participants on this tour should be in good shape, wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes and be able to climb numerous steps and tolerate elevations of 11,000 feet). Fee includes round trip van transportation, hosted guide, Snowbowl ride, box lunch, and water.

Disneyland/California Adventure 101
This trip is for everyone whether you are going to Disneyland for the first time or you if have already been there; it is an adventure that lasts a lifetime! We will leave early Friday morning, break for lunch and spend the rest of the evening at Disneyland or California Adventure. Wake up Saturday morning and visit the characters or go on your favorite ride. You can stay all day or take the shuttle back to your room for a short break. On Sunday we will visit the Ontario Mills Mall for lunch and sight seeing at some of their extreme displays before heading home. This trip will include motorcoach transportation, ticket fees to Disneyland / California Adventure for 2 days, continental breakfast, hotel room, shuttle to and from the hotel to Disneyland / California Adventure, and beverages and snacks while on the bus. To make this trip more easily affordable you can put a deposit of $110 down per person upon signing up and then make up to 3 easy payments thereafter. The entire trip will need to be paid for by September 2, 2012.
