The City of Kingman is conducting a citizen survey to help improve city operations. In October, a survey was mailed to a random selection of 1,600 resident households. Pursuant to the Responsible Sales and Use Tax Act (Proposition 413) approved by the City of Kingman voters on November 6, 2018, the City of Kingman’s Model City Tax Code will be amended to reflect a 1% decrease in the transaction privilege and use tax rate among most categories effective January 1, 2019. Administers the Kingman General Plan, works with requests for amendments and updates to the General Plan. The General Plan is the guiding document for development decisions in the Kingman area. Planning and Zoning administers many ordinances and policies that support the objectives of the General Plan. These ordinances including the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Landscape Ordinance, various aspects of the Streets and Sidewalks Development Rules and Regulations, and the Minor Lot Split ordinance. Planning and Zoning also staffs the following Commissions: Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, and Clean City Commission.
