Vehicle vs. Bicycle Serious Injury Crash

On Friday, August 31st at approximately 9:45 p.m., Kingman Police responded to the 500 block of W. Beale St. for a serious injury crash involving a vehicle and bicycle. The investigation revealed that a male riding a bicycle with no lights or reflectors was traveling eastbound on Beale St. in the two-way left turn lane. The bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, merged into the “fast lane”. A vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Kingman male was traveling eastbound on Beale St. in the “fast lane”, and could not see the bicyclist. As the bicyclist was merging from the two-way left turn lane into the “fast lane”, the vehicle struck the bicyclist. The male bicyclist was flown to University Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries. Alcohol, speed, and drugs were not a factor.
