Stockton Hill Road Project Update

Post Date:12/20/2018 4:30 PM

Crews successfully finished the trench patching last week and set up the traffic control for the next section (northbound lane between Chili’s and Gordon Drive).  They have been working on the mainline and are making good progress.  With the holidays coming up, construction crews will not be working next week. Crews will begin work again January 2, 2019, where they plan to continue work on the main line.  Once the mainline crew reaches Gordon Dr., they will set up traffic control for the next southbound work zone, which is tentatively planned to begin the week of January 7. As a reminder, the southbound work zone will start at the traffic signal at Chili’s and will end at Plaza Drive. In this zone, the outside southbound lane will be restricted, and we will ensure that business accessed is maintained.

With this being the last weekend before Christmas, we encourage the traveling public to drive with patience and caution, as traffic counts will no doubt increase.

Although the crews have been doing a lot of trench patching, the city would like to remind everyone that the entire section of Stockton Hill Road between Airway Avenue and Gordon Dr. will be repaved, which will result in a nice, smooth road.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this project and remind residents to drive carefully through work zones.

The project should be completed by April 2019.

Haydon Building Corp was awarded the contract for this project.
