Meetings of the City Council are held the first and third Tuesday of every month, unless otherwise noticed. Special meetings are called by the City Council from time to time.
What do I have to do to receive City Council agendas?
To receive City Council agendas you may mail your written request to the City Clerk's Office, listing name, address, and telephone number to the City of Kingman City Clerk's Office, 310 N Fourth Street, Kingman AZ 86401.
Council agendas are also posted on this site when they become available. They will be on the main page under 'Upcoming Meeting', just click the link for the meeting. You can also access current and past agendas on the City Council's Documents page located here.
How can a citizen have an issue placed on a Council agenda?
The City Clerk must have a written request seven days prior to the next Council meeting. In your request, please include:
Your name, address, and phone number
Describe in detail the nature of your request
Address the request to the Mayor and Council
Can anyone speak at a Council Meeting?
Yes. Any citizen who wishes to address the Mayor and Council during a meeting are provided an opportunity to speak. Prior to the start of the meeting, you must fill out a form entitled Sign-up Sheet for Persons Wishing to Speak, provided at the door. Legibly print your name, the date, the group you represent (if any), the topic on which you wish to speak, and the agenda item number. Give the completed form to the Recording Secretary. When the Mayor acknowledges you, please step up to the podium, state your name and address for the record, and proceed to speak clearly into the microphone.
If you wish to speak about something that is not on the agenda, you may do so during the "Call to Public" portion of the meeting. You are limited to five minutes speaking time. While you may speak to the Council on any subject at this time, the Mayor and Council cannot discuss or take action on any item that is not on the agenda.
I cannot attend Council meetings but would like to know what happens. How can I find out?
The agendas for the Council meetings will be posted on our website, they are posted at City Hall, the Library, and copies are available in the City Clerk's office for those who care to stop by and pick one up.
In addition, the Minutes are taken at each meeting. The Minutes are the official record of the proceedings at each meeting. The Minutes will be approved and accepted by the Council at the next scheduled Council meeting. Once the Minutes have been approved as written, they will be available on the website, and will be posted for review at City Hall.
The meeting are also recorded. The meeting is shown on SuddenLink Channel 4 at the time of the meeting and over the next two weeks 2-3 times a day.
