The refundable deposit is non-interest bearing and will be applied to the account after 12 months of good credit history or be applied against the final utility bill, whichever comes first.

Good Credit Waives the Deposit

We will not require a deposit if you can supply a letter of credit from another utility company that meets our good credit criteria. The criteria being that the letter shows the past year's credit history with no more than 4 delinquencies, no disconnects, and no returned checks. You can have a letter of credit faxed to us at (928) 718-2576 or e-mailed to utilitybilling@cityofkingman.gov. If your letter meets our criteria, we will be able to complete your request for new service.
