Upcoming Trips, Activities and Events
Register by Friday, December 7
Santa and his North Pole Elves will be calling your child this holiday season after completing the Santa’s Calling Form. Santa’s Calling is for children 3 to 9 years who would like to receive a call from Santa or one of his helpers. Children should be able to communicate with Santa or his elves during a phone call (adult help is okay). Forms will be available at City Hall, the Recreation Department, and through local schools beginning November 12. Forms must be completed by a parent or guardian. You may return the form to any of our Red North Pole Mailboxes located at City Hall, Centennial Park Recreation Department, and Fire Station #3 off of Gordon. All forms must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7; mailboxes will be collected and returned to the North Pole. Calls will be placed between November 26-December 21 (no choice of calling date).
Santa is looking for volunteers to assist with calls, so if you’re interested and can help Santa, please call the North Pole Hotline at 757-7919.
Letters to Santa
Attention all kids! Santa’s Elves are here and will be delivering your Christmas Greetings personally to the North Pole from November 12 to December 7. Santa has promised to return a letter to every boy & girl who writes him. To receive a letter from Santa, senders must send a letter to Santa and provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. Your letters can be deposited in the holiday mailbox located at the Parks & Rec. Office or mailed to the address below; please allow 2 weeks for delivery. Note: this is NOT a “presents or gift receiving” program.

The 18th Annual Kingman Polar Bear Plunge
Tuesday, January 1st, 2019
12:00 p.m. @ Centennial Pool 3333 Harrison St., Kingman AZ
The “Plunge” is now seventeen years and counting with participation increasing each year. What started out as a fun challenge has blossomed into a full scale specialty event to begin the New Year! The “Plunge” is open to anyone interested in starting off their new year in a “chilling” way by braving the near freezing waters of Centennial Pool. Several unknown prizes await brave swimmers at the bottom of the pool. The “Plunge” is FREE for everyone. Warm showers await all dippers at the events conclusion. The “Plunge” will take place at exactly Noon on New Year’s Day, not a minute before or after the hour… The plunge is usually over within minutes so don’t be late!
Note: The brisk water temperatures may not be suitable for everyone. If you have a heart condition or history of heart related problems, the Polar Bear Plunge may not be the activity for you to participate in. If unsure that the shock of cold water may be harmful to your health you should consult your physician prior to participating. All plungers do so at their own risk.
